If it is taking 30 minutes from the time you turn the power on until the time you see the Win98 logo screen, then you have a failing hard drive.

Also, what cables did you replace and what motherboard do you have?

Go to the manufacturer of your hard drives web site and download the free installation/diagnostic utility. To determine who made your hard drive, open your computer case and look at the sticker on the top of the drive. Also, keep in mind that most hard drives have a three year warranty, so if you do determine your drive is bad, you may get a free replacement.

If you determine the hard drive is okay, then be sure to repost your results.
